The Great Escape 2018 – Interviewing PEANESS

Posted on 31/05/2018by Mel London

During my hectic gig chase at The Great Escape Festival I was also faced with barely making it into the venue, standing at the far back, unable to see a thing. As annoying as it is when you can’t see a thing, you focus more on the actual music. This is what happened when I […]

Posted on 11/12/2017by Mel London

What best to do on a cold snowy November night than to forget about the miserable cold by drowning yourself in some sweet summery indie pop? Thankfully ‘The New Coast‘ provided the perfect soundtrack as they headlined ‘Thousand Islands’ in London. The venue was packed and warm, a nice distraction from the outside as the […]

Hung out in the old playground of @jimihendrix and Hung out in the old playground of @jimihendrix and his neighbour Georg Friederich Händel.

It’s kinda crazy that those two musicians who changed the music history in their own way lived next to each other, centuries apart.

If you’re around in London @Handel_hendrix is well worth a little stop over.
🎺Keep us from saying anything can’t separate 🎺Keep us from saying anything can’t separate from everything!
And all this really means is, you're one in a crowd and you're paranoid of every sound.🤘🏻. Had the best time dancing the night away with @lessthanjake at @o2academybrix on Saturday!

So much dancing, so many laughs, so many pints, too many shots.

Perfect night out if you ask me 💃

Took the train up to Birmingham to visit the @blacksabbath 50 years exhibition. I spend nearly two hours marvelling at the life spanning career of Ozzy, Tony, Geezer and Bill.
So much amazing memorabilia is carefully displayed by @homeofmetal_uk .

The exhibition is on till the end of September, so if you’re a fan of the Brummies get yourself down there and immerse yourself in some proper heavy metal. 🤘🏻

Oh take me back to @omandm live at @wackenopenair.official !

How I miss the festival times on such a gloomy Tuesday, can anyone take me back in front of the main stage please?

Anyone else suffering through the festival withdrawal?
Last nights @heavymusicawards shenanigans were wel Last nights @heavymusicawards shenanigans were well good 🤘🏻! Here’s a shot of the kickass @novatwinsmusic rocking the big stage!
It’s always good to see some super talented ladies killing it in the heavy music world 👯‍♀️! Who’s your favourite lady in rock right now?

Holy fuck, there is nothing better than a rowdy @adtr gig on a Wednesday night!
It felt like the entire @houseofvansldn turned into one massive mosh pit for the whole set!
So much passion and energy sent me on an emotional rollercoaster ride, especially during the most beautiful ‘If It Means A Lot To You’ 🖤. It was an honour to dance with you @adtr , this will forever be A Day To Remember!

Horrible pun fully intended 🙈

Anyone else is going to see them live soon or went down to see the madness as well last night?
🎶NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!🎶. Throwback when @thel 🎶NOTHING BUT TROUBLE!🎶. Throwback when @thelazys celebrated their @wackenopenair.official debut with a smashing set! It’s always incredible to see great bands killing it at a festival, but when you get to be there for the debut , that’s on a whole other level!

After this wicked experience I had a chat with @mattylazy and @the.australian.dreamer about what the hell had just happened! It’s been so much fun talking to the lads, they were the sweetest most overwhelmed amazing humans I have ever interviewed 🖤. You can find the full interview now on my blog:

Still reminiscing about that time @sabatonofficial played an epic anniversary headline set at @wackenopenair.official and casually took over both main stages at the same time.

Can it get any better than this?
Double the instruments, double the tanks, double the sound!

What better way to show you what I’ve been up to at this years @wackenopenair.official than bringing you a little highlight video! 💃🤘🏻.

It’s been just over a week that I left the holy ground and went back to my ‘normal’ life and what can I say? I miss being at Wacken already!

To fight my festival blues I relived the whole shenanigans and wrote in my Wacken diary. Yes, the Camp diaries are back for another year!
Moreover I have gathered my musical highlights from the festival and you can find out who’s gig I loved the most on my blog right now.

Let me know who was your favourite band at the 30th edition of WOA!

All my Wacken adventures are now online!

🤘🏻Viva the underdogs!🤘🏻. Still can’t 🤘🏻Viva the underdogs!🤘🏻. Still can’t get over the fact that @parkwaydriveofficial casually showed the world that metalcore is still alive and bigger than ever!

Just look at @winstontmc lil face and how happy he looks. I probably had the same expression plastered all over my face for the entirety of their set.

Anyone else witnessed the magic at @wackenopenair.official ?
🤘🏻Faster Harder Louder!🤘🏻. After a wee 🤘🏻Faster Harder Louder!🤘🏻. After a week of metal madness at @wackenopenair.official I’m now back at my desk in London.
Can’t believe that Wacken’s 30th birthday party is already over, but I guess the saying is true, time flies when you are having fun!

And boy did I have fun! It was such a great week on the holy ground filled with so many laughs, old friends and new friends alike topped off by some amazing music and the overall Wacken spirit!

Stay tuned for more Wacken content the next days as I struggle to fight the festival blues.

Thanks Wacken, it’s been a pleasure to celebrate your 30th birthday together! 🖤
🤘🏻Good morning @wackenopenair.official , you 🤘🏻Good morning @wackenopenair.official , you look great in the sun! 🤘🏻 I arrived on Monday with my boys and after setting up the camp and exploring Wacken a bit yesterday I can’t wait to see what today has in store.
Weather looks amazing at the moment but surely the rain will return soon, never mind... Wacken rain or shine!

Anyone else hanging out on the holy ground?
